The Campus of International Excellence of the Sea (CEI-MAR) has held the Board of Trustees of its Foundation chaired by the rector of the University of Cadiz and president of the Campus of Excellence, Francisco Piniella, with the presence also of the vice-rector of Science and Technology Policy of the University of Cadiz and president of the CEI-MAR Executive Committee, María Jesús Mosquera and its general coordinator, Darío Bernal.
During this ordinary session, held in person and via videoconference, María Jesús Mosquera informed the trustees about the II International Meeting on Blue Knowledge and Growth, InnovAzul, which will be held in Cadiz from 29 November to 2 December, and invited them to participate in this important event. Organised jointly with the UCA, InnovAzul is a meeting place for companies, institutions, research centres and universities related to the strategic sectors linked to the Blue Economy that aims to facilitate collaboration between the different agents in the system to promote innovation and generate a modern, sustainable and competitive economy. After the success of the first edition held in 2018, it aims to consolidate itself as a mandatory meeting point for all companies and international organisations in the field of the Blue Economy.
The international meeting will be held at the Palacio de Congresos de Cádiz and will feature an extensive programme of lectures, round tables and an exhibition area with stands for companies and public and private entities.
The Board of Trustees was also attended by: Diego Luis Varela, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at the University of Almeria; José Rodríguez Quintero, Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer at the University of Huelva; Enrique Moreno Ostos, coordinator of CEI-MAR in Malaga; Pedro Aguilera, coordinator of CEI-MAR in Almeria; Pedro Sánchez, coordinator of CEI-MAR at the University of Granada; María Reyes, coordinator of CEI-MAR at the University of Huelva; Margarita Paneque, territorial delegate of the Higher Council for Scientific Research in Andalusia; Antonio Pazos, director of the Royal Navy Observatory (ROA); Milagros Alzaga, head of the Centre for Underwater Archaeology (CAS); Marina Delgado, director of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO-CSIC) in Cadiz; Julián Blasco, director of the Institute of Marine Sciences of Andalusia (ICMAN); Rafael Sabio, director of the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (ARQVA) and Salvador Moreno, head of institutional relations of the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy (IHM).
The Rector of the University of Almeria, Carmelo Rodríguez, the Rector of the University of Granada, Pilar Aranda, the Rector of the University of Huelva, María Antonia Peña, the representative of ENDESA, Rafael Durán, and the Regional Director of Telefónica, Joaquín Segovia, were excused from attending.
